patch 50 failed on ndir.c.  fetching kit9 reveals the progression
1.3 -> 1.5 -> 1.6.  my ndir.c (patchlevel 48,49) was at 1.3 and
patch 50 wanted 1.5.

was it just a glitch that patch 50 was posted to n.s.nntp et. al.
but not patch 49?
