Subject: Odd A3000 monitor

I got to fidget with an Amiga 3000 a while ago, and found a strange
monitor "driver" (or whatever they're called).  I enabled one of the
modes for this thing, and the screen started flashing, apparently cycling
through the windows.  Does anyone know what the heck it was doing, or
what it was supposed to be doing?
