I know it took months before dealers >would sell 1.3 machines. > Commodore had BEST find an economical way to keep the A500's in business! If they should make it unfit to upgrade to 2.0 standards ALOT of people will be mad! I estimate that over HALF of the Amigas sold are A500's (33% a2000's, 15% a1000's, and 2% a3000/mutant machines). Browsing through a CAT price list I found that the BlitterChip (89.00) and the new Denise (44.95) would tally to 135, plus the newkickstart (~$40) and software (~$20), plus the fact that the A500's need a special wiring to rig up 1meg chip ram(labor $30)..the total comes to $225.... They HAVE to offer a DEAL package. Like to whole kit-and-kabboddle for 125 or something..... (Or should I be worried that they will do nothing.....they've made WB2.0 to run under ks1.2 and other PRIMITIVE materials....ugggggh what will they do!??)
