To answer your question #4, The Hewlett-Packard Deskjet, Plus, or 500
is an ideal printer for general use/DTP applications. I use mine with
Pagestream (and sometimes Professional Page) and get near-laser quality
from it. It's also a LOT cheaper to buy & run than a laser.
