Well, thanks to a few folks, mainly Fred Hamilton, I now have SID running without major difficulties. There seem to be 3 key elements getting it to run on accerlated Amigas (or at least the A3000). One is to not use DEVICE buttons, only use the VOL button. Two is to use a file zapping utility to change each occurence of NEWCON to just CON. And, three is to set the SEPARATEDIR option to NO. However, after doing the first two of these, I tried setting this last one to YES and so far it is still working fine. The reason for setting NEWCON to CON is to get the auto unarchiving process to work. It needs to open a new CLI and can't with NEWCON under 2.02. Anyway, I now await an official upgrade and if it works, my shareware fees will be on the way shortly thereafter. BTW. The only real quirk to how this is set up is that it takes SID longer to read the RAM: disk with only ENV:, T: and CLIPBOARDS: in it than to read my HD WORK: partition with more than a dozen directories. I though that very strange, but it is only somewhat bothersome and still works. I just though you might like to hear my difficulties are over and I'd like to thank those that provided suggestions, especially Fred.
