Language Lab Lines: 22 There is no need to dump the SyQuest drive. Both the Ricoh and SyQuest are TRUE removable media hard drives. They both are removable media platters and in both the actual drive mechanism are inside the drive. Now I used to have a problem with my SyQuest drive. It would occasionally lock up during a disk write operation. This problem occurs when the SyQuest drive is used with a Commodore A2091 controller. It is a problem in the SyQuest ROMS. I have recieved new ROMS from SyQuest that correct this problem. I have also noticed that the newer ROMS from SyQuest speed up the disk access time quite dramatically. So, for those SyQuest drive owners out there I would call SyQuest and ask then for a ROM update. Here is a summary of the ROM versions that I have used: ROM SPEED works w/ version A2091 ======================== F2G SLOW LOCKUP <-- SyQuest as shipped FFH FAST LOCKUP FAJ FAST YES <-- Amiga owners w/ A2091 need these ROMS
