Subject:Help with Ftp sites

Recently I have been downloading alot of programs off the ftp site 
abcfd20.larc.nasa.gov in the incoming amiga dir.  But I have been running
into a big problem.  First im using Online V3 with a SupraModem 2400 and
downloading them with the zmodem capibility.  After the down load i      
decompress the lharc files or the zoo files on a just formatted disk.

Now the problem after the decompression i try to look at the dir in the cli
and The system message comes up saying software error ect.  Whats the deal 
here are all the programs bad or shoul i switch telecommunication programs
or do i have the dreaded computer sickness the VIRUS???? Can anyone help
This problem is driving me insane.  I have run VirusX and it didnt find 
anything ???? SomeOne help.
