The monochrome mode is not as sharp as the Atari SM124 monitor. You need to adjust the 'sharpness' on the monochrome mode. The display is quite good in this mode. I saw a multisync monitor from one of the booth (Wutek) in the Anaheim Atari Show that has a very good display in the monochrome mode. The company, Wutek (spell??) is located in southern California.
