Message-ID: <3958@dftsrv.gsfc.nasa.gov> Date: 19 Nov 90 22:07:12 GMT Sender: news@dftsrv.gsfc.nasa.gov Organization: NASA/GSFC Biospheric Sciences Branch Lines: 23 Originator: karl@gimms835.gsfc.nasa.gov I have an account on a 9000/835, "gimms835" and a Sun, "forest" under id karl. I have an account on a Cray, "charney", under id zmkaa. My .rhosts file on forest is as follows: charney.gsfc.nasa.gov zmkaa gimms835.gsfc.nasa.gov karl I can rcp to karl@forest:/home/karl when logged in to gimms835 as karl, or when logged in to charney as zmkaa. My .rhosts file on gimms835 is as follows: charney.gsfc.nasa.gov zmkaa forest.gsfc.nasa.gov karl I can rcp to karl@gimms835:/home/karl when logged in to forest as karl, but *not* when logged in to charney as zmkaa. Is there any way I can rcp to an HP-UX 7.0 machine if the usernames don't match? Email ok, but maybe the net would like to know the answer. TIA. -- Karl A.
