The LanProbe. This box attaches to an Ethernet and displays its output through software running under Windows on a PC compatible. The software interface is very slick. It allows you to maintain a graphic "database" of your system, it displays real-time graphs for various statistics, and it allows you to filter and capture packets. The LanProbe can talk to the PC over the net, or by a serial cable. The software is very simple to use. 2. The Lan Analyzer. I forget the model number. This is a portable unit with built-in monitor, hard disk, floppy disk. It has more sophisticated data and packet gathering capabilities, but does not provide for a graphic description of your network. We have found both tools very useful.
