Just a few thoughts on my Portfolio after 6 months: 1 - It's a great little machine, despite the funky keyboard and the small display (whaddaya want for $300!!) 2 - The spreadsheet is okay, but I've been using Turbo Pascal 3.0 for most programming. It's BIG and you have to use FAST refresh mode, but it works!! 3 - I use debug to write small assembled tools (POKE, PEEK etc). 4 - I used Turbo C to write a password protection program 5 - The batteries will usually last better than a month if I dont forget and leave it in FAST refresh mode. 6 - The folks at ATARI are very helpful (not the 800 number, they're just sales order takers) It's well worth the price of a phone call to talk to the men in the trenches. 7 - Caribbean really is spelled with one r and two b's, amazing!! (inside joke) 8 - I'd love to hear any info about the little gems, pro or con, but I'm a graduate student, so I don't always get a chance to answer my mail right away!! (Busy, busy, busy!!!) 9 - I just joined COMPUSERVE, so I'l see just what's floating around out there software-wise. Thanks again ATARI for producing an affordable, high quality 1 lb. computer! -- ******************************************************************************** Randy Lee SL2FX@cc.usu.edu (Still looking for something to put here) ********************************************************************************
