Lines: 23 Using HC 2.0 (and System 6.05 on an SE) I have no problem creating a test stack, making a scrolling field, and using the sort numeric command in a script to sort lines in that field. However, in another stack, I have a scrolling field containing about 250 lines and 7500 characters. This field sorts fine by ascii, ie "sort cd fld subjects" works great. When I change the script to "sort cd fld subjects numeric" nothing at all happens - no error, nothing. (And of course, I make sure that the field is out of numerical order before I run the script.) Same if I add "ascending" at the end of the line - no action at all. How come sorting numeric works fine in my test stack, but not in my other stack? Is this a real problem or did I make it up? Thanks for any advice. -- Rob Weinberg Does a tree fall in the forest {uunet, pyramid}!infmx!robertw if 1: no one hears it **Disclaimer: You didn't read BUT 2: it is not known that any of this here!** no one hears it?
