I did some mac programming back 4-5 years ago and would like complete what
I started and then move on to some new stuff.  I have some questions
before I invest in new software and hardware.


HARDWARE QUESTIONS:

I currently have a 512KE.

Option 1-(Upgrade my 512KE to a plus)
Would a Mac Plus with 2MB memory and 40 MB disk drive give me a
decent platform to start with.

Option 2- (buy a Mac Classic).
Could I use my current 512KE as remote debugger, like they used to be able
to do (I think)?


SOFTWARE QUESTIONS:

I used a very old version of MPW (pre HFS), I had to write assembly
interfaces for my custom control proceedures that were called directly by the
OS.

Question 1 - Is that the way it still works (or did I miss something)?

Question 2 - With Think C can you also write assembler routines?

Question 3 - With Think C are the proceedure (function) call formats compatible with the OS?

Question 4 - One problem I never resolved.  Using the resource compiler
how do you create a menu item with the checkmark as default?  Don't answer
this one if no one uses the resource compiler anymore.

Question 5 - Where do you get the latest resource editor and all those goodies 
(APDA?).


GENERAL QUESTIONS:

Question 1 - What do you get with APDA, and how much does it cost?
(sorry if that is a dumb question).

Question 2 - How is the introduction of C++ changing mac programming?
