There are several devices out there,  one called,  appropriately, 
Init/Cdev.  If you hold down the spacebar during startup,  it will bring up a 
dialog of all of your inits in your system folder.  You can turn them on/off 
by highlighting them.  There are also other commercial ones that tell you 
EVERYTHING you could ever want to know about an init,  and some even will 
alert you of an Init conflict!
