I am planning on buying a modem in the near future. I would like to
get recommendations/suggestions/comments on the following items.

1. What brand name of modem to purchase?

2. What baud rate to get?

3. What are the available commercial and public BBS available. I am
   particularily intrested in BBS in the Milwaukee, WI area.  I am 
   also intrested in cost of membership to commercial BBS.

4. What are the different communication software packages available?

5. Do local (WI Bell) and/or long distance (US Sprint) have any 
   special rates for computer transmission lines?

6. Anything else that is related.
