Keywords: syslog, lastlog, finger Message-ID: <2707@speedy.mcnc.org> Date: 20 Nov 90 21:20:10 GMT Reply-To: sullivan@pysgjb.ncsu.edu Organization: MCNC; RTP, NC Lines: 22 (S. Kajihara is posting this note for me.) I just noticed that logins on the console are not recorded in either ~adm/SYSLOG or ~adm/lastlog. One consequence, then, is that the finger information is unreliable. On the other hand the session is logged in /etc/wtmp. Is possible to change this behavior, and have console sessions properly logged? FYI: my login.options include lastlog and syslog=all.
