Message-ID: <17324@hydra.gatech.EDU> Date: 20 Nov 90 00:03:47 GMT Sender: scott@prism.gatech.EDU Organization: Georgia Institute of Technology Lines: 12 We have a number of printers around our campus accessible via lpd. The host systems run anything from Sun OS to VM/CMS. A number of these printers are known by queue names which are greater than 7 characters long. When trying to define these printers to AIX, this apparently causes a problem. Other than renaming the queues on the remote machines (out of the question), is there any way around this. Should I just give up and port lpd. Thanks, Scott
