After an overwhelming response, I decided to put together my own solution. I modified a DOS "PRN" driver that to shoot print jobs out the serial port to the Xenix system. It honors Xon/Xoff and, most importantly, sends an ASCII EOT at the end of each transmission (appropriately enough) to the Xenix box. A simple shell script on the Xenix side sits on a given serial line and redirects each incoming file to the LP system. It has seen limited testing here; it behaves just as though the DOS machine was directly attached to the destination printer. If anyone wishes a copy of the code, let me know.
