    For the packages you specifically, Word for Windows version 1.1 and
    Excel 2.1D are the latest Windows 3.0 compatible versions.  There will
    be a new version of Excel (3.0) out by the beginning of next year.  
    All versions of Windows Word are 3.0 compatible and all versions of
    Excel starting with 2.1C are 3.0 compatible.
