Keywords: QVT net 3COM lan manager Message-ID: <1990Nov22.195418.9049@mercury.cair.du.edu> Date: 22 Nov 90 19:54:18 GMT Sender: news@mercury.cair.du.edu (netnews) Followup-To: rbourass@diana.cair.du.edu Organization: University of Denver Lines: 18 Does anyone know of a way to run WinQVT/net and 3+Open (Lan Manager) at the same time? We have a very large ethernet WAN where I work which includes many UNIX and VAX systems running TCP/IP. Recently added was a 3COM 3+Open server for a group of PCs. Ideally, I would like these PCs to be able to use the 3+Open server as well as having access to the minis via the ethernet. 3COM offers a TCP package to run with their drivers, but I am not very happy with it. It can only open one session at a time and FTP is not available in the Terminal Emulator. You get either/or, but not both. Biggest advantage, of course, is that it runs with the 3+Open NetBios protocol running. I would much prefer to run WinQVT/NET with the above scenerio, even more so because the 3COM TCP will not run under Windows 3.0 in 386 enhanced mode. Would appreciate any ideas or comments. Please E-Mail me direct if possible. Thanks in advance... Rich
