We are running rn patchlevel 48 with C news patchdate 7-Sep-1990.

If I let my news reading in a particular group slide for a while and 
accumulate lots of unread messages...

********  1280 unread articles in comp.sys.mac.misc--read now? [ynq]

and I say 'y', it often comes back with

Skipping unavailable article...

Which I can handle - I take it to mean that some articles have been expired
before I read them.  Unfortunately, rn then invariably marks all remaining
articles as read!  Which means that I have to manually mark the last 100 or 
so articles as unread to read them.

Is this a bug or feature of rn?
