hi,
        having heard the apogees a few times and i do not think they
would be a good match for tube amps that offer the "classic tube
sound".  the apogees i had heard definitely strayed from neutrality
in that it had a depressed treble (i speak of the calipers).  i have not
heard the stage but if they do sound like the calipers then my opinion
on their use with tube amps definitely stand.
        also, aren't apogees supposed to be a bit current hungry?  i do
not think tubes are capable of offering the same current output as are
transistor devices.
