Could someone in the know please comment on the existence of the Aragon 4004 SERIES II, (I suppose over SERIES I or whatever), what the sonic differences might be, and how the series can be identified. I ask becuase my brother and I both have Aragon 4004s bought at nearly the same time from different dealers. His was available in stock and mine had to come from Aragon which took 3-4 weeks. We've noticed some slight differences betwixt the two- the power on LED on mine fades as soon as the power switch is turned off while his remains glowing for several minutes. We both use AR preamps- I hear an audible click when I activate my mute while he maintains that he hears no such click. So I'm wondering what there is to this SERIES business as I'd been led to believe that all 4004s were the same and that Aragon was good at maintaining quality although manufacturers have obviously changed. BTW, we both like the sound of the Aragon a lot- clearly there are others that are better, but for the price these seem hard to beat. Steve Graber work: (804) 924-9976 UVa Dept.
