I will be dealing with databases of up to 4 or 5 Mbytes in size. I hope to find a package with a vector, array, or blob datatype because the database records can consist of up to 10K words and I don't want or need to name them all as individual fields. I prefer to use a programmatic interface (preferably FORTRAN) to load the databases and to interface to specialized applications programs. I have received some sales literature about * Techra * TECHBASE * TekBase Kvatro A/S Minesoft, Ltd. Leading Technology Trondheim, Norway Denver, Colorado London, England I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had experience with any of these database products. The workstation for this project will be a Sun Sparcstation 1+ . I would also be interested in suggestions of other database products which might be applicable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Vince Scullin | Never attribute to malice that | | Scientific Data Applications Branch | which can be adequately explained | | NASA Lewis Research Center | by ignorance. | | Cleveland, Ohio 44135 uuvince@venus.lerc.nasa.gov (Vince Scullin) | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
