Does anyone have any experience running emacs 18.55 on a Cray X-MP, running Unicos 5.1? we have an earlier version of emacs with some mods that are rumored to come from the San Diego Supercomputer Center (sorry if this isn't true). I noticed that some of the changes include a file that starts 'String search routines' and contains a bunch of C code that apparently interfaces to elisp. this version of emacs is linked with X11, and comes up in its own window. the x-set-* functions seem to work, but mouse functions don't (they beep). i can run emacs for maybe ten minutes at the max before it hangs. this is the main bummer. so, are there any sufficiently Cray experienced emacs gurus who might help me get a real emacs up and running? has anyone brought up Epoch on the Cray? just thought i'd ask... thanks in advance, if anyone can help. dlb ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ David L.
