You can switch between text and graphics modes in a TV program, but you won't be able to use the TV features in graphics mode. I'm not sure about CRT's direct support of > 80 columns. My _suspicion_ is that if the BIOS variable(s) indicate more than 80 columns on the screen, CRT _might_ be able to deal with it appropriately.
