My task is to make a printer driver for one. Normally I'd just read the manual and write one, but the Calcomp looks a little strange. 1) Is it true that Calcomp sells the plotter controllers seperately from the plotter hardware? The manual I have strongly implies this but doesn't say it straight. If so, which drivers go with which plotters? 2) There are aparently a series of routines that Calcomp provides that communicate with the controllers. Do they work? Why would I use one of their routines when I can just spit out the bytes on my own? 3) Are the above routine PD? I'd like to just incorporate them into the product (eg, ship Calcomp code to the whole world and not just to those people who own Calcomp products).
