In the 1992 version of X.400, there will be a parameter to indicate
compression of P22 body parts, but, I believe, only for file
transfer body parts, not for other body parts.

The parameter to indiciate compression of body parts will be
an object identifer. I do not know if any registry will be set
up for registering compression algorithms and their associated
object identifiers.

Does FTAM have this facility? I am asking because the forthcoming
1992 version of X.400 will define file transfer in P22 body parts
in a way which is intended to be compatible with FTAM.
