Specifically, we've got a pack of silicon graphics 4Ds which are SYSV, but with many BSDisms (most notably sockets). Unfortunately, terminal ioctls are not emulated, and there are a few software packages that I'd like to port over. In this, specific case, UW - a windowing package for MACs and STs and BSD machines. I`m thinking of putting something together to emulate as much of the BSDisms as possible, so that the porting process is not such a pain, but first" Has anybody attempted/done this before? If so could I get some pointers and/or code from you? thx. (followups to comp.sys.sgi) -- Stephen samuel (userzxcv@ualtamts.bitnet or alberta!obed!steve)
