Go ahead and flame me if you want, but I need to know exactly what is a hard
drive controller and what is it used for.  Is it needed to have a hard drive? 
I just started in the computing world and am thinking of getting a HD for my
A500, but everything keeps talking about controllers and I don't know what they
are, obviously, that is why I am posting here.  Call me stupid, call me a
retard, but I needed a few questions answered before I went out and spent my
money.  Thanks in advance.
