Since I was replacing 256Kbx4 zips (I moved the dips & put in some zips a few months ago) I'm sure I put the new ones in the correct slots etc etc. Stupidity mode on (:-{ Since the tube and the packing list said 1Mx4-80 SC I didn't write down the chip part numbers except to notice they were NECs. The box is closed up at home so I can't give the part no.s now either... Stupidity Node Off (hopefully). Anyway, is it *possible* for either a (1) chip to be bad or even to be seated incorrectly and the system come up at all? (I *thought* 8 1MBx4 chips made up just one bank meaning "all on or all off"). I'd like a response today (if possible)... Thanks in advance -- ADMS - not a dbms you're likely to run into every day (Unless of course you want process time on one of *OUR* machines...)
