Our gateway node is a DN3500 running os10.2/bsd4.3. When mail comes in from the outside world it acquires the proper acls. If the mail is sent from within the network AND from a diskless node, the sender of the mail becomes the owner of the recipient's mbox. In some cases when mail is sent from a diskless we get the error: cannot append to /usr/spool/mail/person Unknown mailer error 1 This error does not occur on disked nodes. The partner node for all of our diskless nodes is also the 9.7 server node for the network. The /usr/spool/mail directory resides on the 10.2 node and is linked from the 9.7 DSP. Can someone enlighten me? Austin Conaty austin@meto.umd.edu
