I'm not sure I agree with your technical statements but I think that you have a good point economically. When someone has a product that is in great demand other companies attempt to capitalize on it and get into the act. Even a few weeks of Econ 103 would show the reasons for not developing a GS clone. For whatever the reason people haven't exactly been falling over themselves to buy a GS.
