For the $1000 range price being mentioned in this thread, you can get
a Laserjet II (not III or IIP) at clearance for only a little more money
($1000  to $1100) at many stores and mail-order vendors and get twice
the speed of a IIP and perhaps cheaper upgrades (many cartridges are
now available a clearance prices).
