Message-ID: <1763@blackbird.afit.af.mil> Date: 24 Nov 90 21:56:30 GMT Distribution: na Organization: Air Force Institute of Technology; WPAFB, OH Lines: 19 Today in my local CompuAdd store, I noticed this modem that claims v.32 9600 baud modulation (not the new v.32bis, though), v.42 error checking and v.42bis compression. The amazing thing was the price... $449.00. This is a heck of a lot cheaper than the Hayes Ultra at $795 street price or the USR v.32 at $650. Anyone have any experience with this modem? My students have found with this brand in the 2400 series, that they're okay on clean lines, but on noisy or weak ones, they won't connect reliably above 300 baud. Nevertheless, for the price, I'd be willing to give it a shot if anyone else has had good experiences with it. -- Maurice INTERNET: lriggins@blackbird.afit.af.mil (129.92.1.2) Opinions expressed here do not reflect those of my employer nor constitute an official position of any U.S.Government agency.
