has anyone been able to get MacLayers to work connecting to
an Apollo computer (running SR10.2, BSD Unix)?  i am getting
(what comes downn to) some low-level BSD socket errors when
layers runs on the Unix side.

i've tried it out on a Sun and it works fine.  it seems that
the code is very Sun-specific.
