Keywords: Hypercard IBM-PC CD-ROM Message-ID: <1990Nov30.195125.22086@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu> Date: 30 Nov 90 19:51:25 GMT Sender: news@ux1.cso.uiuc.edu (News) Distribution: comp.sys.mac.hypercard Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 23 I have a CD-ROM disk intended for use with an IBM-PC program. The program accesses the first 100+ blocks to get the offset values for the data to be displayed on screen. The data is basically acsii (I think). I have read that Hypercard is the best way to access CD-ROM data but it apparently needs more than 1.2.5 is documented to have. My Chinon CD-ROM drive has the drivers to show the single ~500MB file I can bring it up in MS-WORD (more than ascii shows up, hmmm). I cannot figure out how to go get a sector/block of the CD-ROM with Hypercard. Any suggestions, pointers, XCMD/XFCN locations (FTP, please) would be greatly appreciated. I supposedly have Hypercard 2.0 on the way but I would like to work on this sooner than the stated ETA of HC 2.0.
