We were not logged on to our Sun 3/160, when we noticed it had rebooted itself. Looking in the /var/adm/messages file we found... Nov 16 12:02:12 brazil vmunix: panic: vn_rele Nov 16 12:02:12 brazil vmunix: syncing file systems... done Nov 16 12:02:12 brazil vmunix: Nov 16 12:02:12 brazil vmunix: dumping to vp f0efeb4, offset 49258 Nov 16 12:02:12 brazil vmunix: 1022 total pages, dump succeeded Nov 16 12:02:12 brazil vmunix: rebooting... The reboot procedure returned no errors, so the system seems to be functioning normally, but why did it reboot. I have never heard of "vn_rele" and can not find any reference to this error. This computer did this once before, about 2 weeks ago. Then also, we had no idea why the system would reboot itself! Brian Berndt brian@psych.purdue.edu
