I transferred TAR-Files from my 386/ix to Coherent to try to compile them or modify the source to make it work. The TAR-Files were created with GNU-Tar. To extract them I used the tar included with Coherent. But Co-Tar crashes with checksum error or whatever (too fast on the screen and too much errors) and afterwards I had recursive directories (if you cd into them you are back where you come from) with owner 101 and group DAEMON. The directories have the names of the normally ex- tracted files, all the same size. When I extracted the TAR-Files with the Coherent version of GNU-Tar, it all works. Any Ideas ? Joachim BTW: Thanks to all of you who made UNIX-PD-Software work on Coherent. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Joachim Riedel joachim@jrix.radig.de Geschwister-Scholl-Strasse 48 D-6050 Offenbach am Main Tel. +49 69 85 62 25 ----------------------------------------------------------------------
