Message-ID: <25109@adm.brl.mil> Date: 26 Nov 90 21:14:01 GMT Sender: news@adm.brl.mil Lines: 22 This is a shot in the dark, but I'll try anyway...Does anyone out there know of a package for IBM's VM operating system that would allow a IBM 'frame to emulate UUCP? I know this is weird, but here's what this package would need to do: o Run on an IBM 4381 mainframe running VM/SP/CMS rel. 5 o Send and receive files in a manner acceptable to UUCP when polled by a Unix box over a 2400-baud dial-up line. I know that someone at Penn State (I believe) wrote a package called UREP to allow Unix machines to emualte IBM's RSCS protocol, but has anyone done the reverse for UUCP? If anyone out there knows, please e-mail me directly. Thanks in advance for your help. Greg Wimpey Student, Dept. of Geology, Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, USA P.S. I know that the readers of this forum are not in general knowledgeable about VM, but I figured that someone out there might have had experience in getting Unix and IBM systems to communicate. If anyone has any sug- gestions for a more appropriate place to post, please let me know.
