   In case anyone's interested...I took the plunge and bought a new
sVGA card for $189 from SWAN (the cheapest ET4000 card on the market)
and it's purring right along with Tom Roell's new x11r4 server!  

  I have a NEC Multisync II and use it in 800x600 mode (w/256 colors...
YES!!!).  I'm going to put in the extra 512K ram on the card because
Tom's server will use it for virtual screen space.

  Hey, if anyone has ftp'ed to Tom Roell's machine to get the binaries,
I think I figured out why his group id is 'stud' :-) :-).
