The best File Browser I have seen is located as part of the source
code of xdbx.  If you want to hack the file browser out of this code I
am sure it would work very nicely.  If you want to take a look at the
file browser in action simply fire up xdbx and choose the "file"
button to see how the browser works.

xdbx is located on expo.lcs.mit.edu as xdbx2.1.tar.Z
