That is where you listen to two different tones, one in each ear, the result being a third tone generated by your brain. This has had, in his research, the effect of inducing various mental effects/states of conciousness. When I asked him if he had done any work with this with different disabilities or chronic pain conditions, he reply was negative. The apparatus required is quite simple - basically a sound card for the PC in use. If anyone is interested, a summary of his experiments thus far is available. W. K. (Bill) Gorman
