Then we obtained the source for NNTP and RN at PL 48, and installed RRN on all our other machines (Suns and VAXen). This works fine. However, when I compiled the same source as RN to use on the machine which runs our news software, it compiled fine, but evertime I try to start it, I get a "Caught a SIGILL ... newsrc restored" and the process hangs until sent a ^\. Applying patches 49 and 50 does not make any difference to this phenomenon. Has anyone observed this and/or have any ideas where I might start looking for the problem? -- W.N.Paul, Int. Institute f.
