Well, feel free to try to get it to format to 1.2GB but don't expect it. :) So, the answer is: close, but no ceegar! :) The ST-412 is a very old HD, so old in fact that I wouldn't recommend putting it to any real use. No problem, it is just like any other seagate, except it is lots smaller.
