Tuesday, 26 November, 1940

British aircraft from the carrier HMS Eagle raid Tripoli, while 
other bombers from HMS Illustrious strike at Rhodes.  The RAF launches
a heavy night raid against Cologne.

Britain's Minister of Shipping warns that British shipbuilding is
not keeping pace with her war losses, and begins the placement of
orders with American shipyards.

German authorities begin the establishment of a Jewish ghetto in 
Warsaw, claiming it as a necessary public health measure.

In Norway, numerous landslides occur simultaneously, blocking many
roads and railways.  The timing of the slides indicates an organized
effort by Norwegian resistance, and German military police stage searches
and make several arrests.

Japan demands several new bases, including Saigon, from French Indo-China.
