I am looking for a public domain inference engine and/or complete expert
system used for statistical analysis.  If possible I need it to be written
in C or S.  If any body out there can help it would be much appreciated.

Any references to literature pertaining to expert system used for
statistical analysis would also be appreciated. (ex. for determining
reliability using software and hardware failure data)
