A simple request:

1) If you are posting a follow up, make an effort to Edit the SUBJECT: line.
Does the subject correspond to your comments or are you taking a new tangent?
This isn't a request: it's good sense.  Just telling to avoid
making you look silly.  Separate the wheat from the chaff.  Which are you?

2) Have you thought about mail rather than a follow up?  A good
conversation is better than wading through endless follow-ups.

3) Can you limit the distribution? (ba,ca,usa,na)  Date postings?

4) Have you thought about more conventional media: library, telephone
note those stupid phone or talk commands), writing a letter?

5)  Edit out all irrelevant parts of the original message.  (You don't
really want to see the other guy's signature again do you?).

6) comp.arch specific:  What is architecture?  It's not well defined
in the context of this group.  Some restrict it to hardware, others
talk about software architecture (like Unix).  One thing is for certain
you will see both types of discussions in this group.

7) Computer nostalgia: there is a very interesting group for this.
It is positively recommended: alt.folklore.computers.  Oh you don't get
the alt groups?  Have you considered working for a more open company?
It can be interesting.

8) Sell something?  The net is distributed by various wires which forbid
personal gain or use.  [If news isn't personal, I don't know what is.]
If you want to promote a product, don't do it here, use comp.newprod.
