It can be used to organize references to files as if they were on your local system without the need to physically move them. It also allows you to include in your view directories that have been created by others, organizing information on various topics. Among the current sites with information accessible to Prospero are midgard.ucsc.edu, june.cs.washington.edu, eddie.mit.edu, charon.mit.edu, and soon athena-dist.mit.edu. I am looking for additional archive sites that are willing to take part. All that is required for an archive site to take part is for it to be on the Internet, and for it to run the Prospero server. The Prospero server makes directory information from a restricted part of the file system (usually the anonymous FTP directory) accessible over the network. I am also looking for users of the Prospero file system. I will initially provide Prospero users with a virtual system in which they can store their view of the information available on the Internet, and the software that allows them to do so. Those interested in taking part should send a message to info-prospero@cs.washington.edu. Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
