Reposted-by: emv@ox.com (Edward Vielmetti) Ok. What is Galactic Bloodshed? You start out on a planet with a race that has various abilities. You mine res and produce fuel, your pop grows, etc... over teh course of UPDATES. Thes run at some set time period. The objecct is to have you race prosper, go forth and multiply. To this end you use your res to build ships. Using them you explore your home system and the other stars in the universe. However you are not alone!! There are generally about 20-30 other joyfully expanding races out there as well. Some are like you and would just love to live on your home planet. Others start to Drool at the sight of the grungy little asteroids you have no interest in. GB is the struggle to have your race grow. There is a great deal more to the actual mechanics of it, but that is the general idea. Docs are available by anonymous ftp at scam.berkeley.edu in src/games/gb. Also there is a guest race at pooh.caltech.edu 2010, but if you want to use it you will need the client. It is also available at scam. get it. uncompress it. sh it. then make it. Good luck. If you have problems email me. I am rparker@ucsd.edu or dheller@ucsd.edu. One account may be down but mail will get to me from both. Good Luck!! -Russ Parker (aka Mynocks) Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
